Bio

Amanda is a 22 year old singer/songwriter whose style is rooted in the re-emerging Americana/folk style. Deeply influenced by the surroundings of her childhood and young adulthood, she sings stories that reflect life and culture of small town southern America, particularly the mountains of East Tennessee.
After spending her early life in Tennessee, where she began
writing songs at the age of 13, Amanda traveled to New York and
Massachusetts for schooling, eventually graduating from college with a
degree in Liberal Arts. She also spent time in an artists educational
community on Martha's Vineyard, where she studied songwriting,
recording, and the music industry.

Six months spent in India after college, teaching AIDS affected children as well as rescued child laborers, added a depth to Amanda's global awareness, as well as her songwriting. She is now focusing on developing her art, and has moved to Nashville to pursue music more seriously. Amanda has performed in her home town of Dayton, TN, as well as Nashville, New York, and Martha's Vineyard. She considers her greatest influences to be Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crow, Over the Rhine, and Gillian Welch, as well as authors Walker Percy and William Faulkner, and poets Rainer Maria Rilke and Maya Angelo
